Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme Announced

Enhanced subsidies are now available for Cheshire homes and businesses to access high-speed broadband.

As part of the Government’s Rural Gigabit Connectivity programme business and residents in some of the hardest-to-reach places in the UK are eligible for additional funding via the Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband to their premises when part of a group project.

Rural premises, experiencing speeds below 30 Megabit per second (Mbps), will now be eligible for up to £3,500
per small and medium-sized business (SME) and up to £1,500 per resident to support the cost of installing
new gigabit-capable connections.

For premises outside the defined most rural areas, the current Gigabit Voucher Scheme remains in place with subsidies of
£2,500 for business and £500 for residential premises.

Any postcode that falls into the rural voucher scheme will be highlighted when using the postcode checker.

Advice on setting up a community scheme is also available.
