First information events attract lots of interest

Over 500 people turned out in wet and windy weather to meet the Connecting Cheshire team at Tarporley and Alderley Edge and find out more about the roll-out of fibre broadband across Cheshire.

The BT fibre showcase vehicle was also present too and proved to be a big hit with visitors, providing an opportunity to see the behind the hidden world of street cabinets, underground ducts and up telegraph poles that will all be used to deliver Connecting Cheshire’s accelerated fibre roll-out.

As well as the opportunity to discuss fibre broadband, ask the team questions and see the showcase vehicle, copies of the January Project Update (PDF – 422KB) and Fibre is coming (PDF – 267KB) were handed out. Printed copies of the document are also available by contacting us.

The comments and questions received will help Connecting Cheshire to guide the team as to how to keep everyone informed in the future and the sort of information that is most useful.

If you weren’t able to make it, don’t worry! As well as future events which Connecting Cheshire will keep you updated about, there’s lots of information on this site but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, please drop us an email at info@connectingcheshire.org.uk.
